Lakshmanacharya
Lakshmanacharya is a convertor tool which converts between English and Sourashtra script. The name , Lakshmanacharya , is given as a tribute to Panditha Chathurvedi Lakshmanacharyaar who is the pioneer in Sourashtra script. Lakshmanacharya takes english script as input and convert it to equal phonetic in Sourashtra. And it takes Sourashtra script as input and convert it to equal phonetic in English alphabet.

Why we need Lakshmanacharya
The keyboard which we use normally has keys for english letters only. Since Indian language including Sourashtra language are stored using different format called Unicode in computer, we need some special tool to print the Indian languages. There are few applications available for the languages which are spoken by majority of the people. Google Transliteration is the best example for these kind of application. To enable writing Sourashtra in a lucid way in Computers, few steps have been taken. Lakshmanacharya is one of them.

Required Software/Applications
The following objects are required to use Lakshmanacharya:
A Browser - For best result, use Firefox. Firefox detects Sourashtra Unicode range and display few complex characters. Lakshmanacharya works in all browser but few characters(KSha, haddu yagaram and naagu sabdu) may not be displayed properly
Sourashtra Sureshu Font - Sureshu is a non-unicode Sourashtra font which has all symbols in Sourashtra language.
Sourashtra Unicode Font - Sourashtra is a Unicode font for Sourashtra language which has all symbols of Sourashtra including the complex characters.
Note: Sureshu and Sourashtra Unicode font is also packaged with Lakshmanacharya. Install, if required, from Font folder of Lakshmanacharya package.

Different Buttons and Boxes
Following picture provide functionality of each component in Lakshmanacharya

Convert to Sourashtra script
  • To convert the information written in Sourashtra using English alphabet, type the words in the box with title English and Click on the Right Arrow. Lakshmanacharya is a transliteration tool i.e letters will be converted based on key map.
  • Sourashtra Language can be displayed using Unicode format or using Sureshu font. To change between Unicode and Sureshu font, select the option using the list which is next to the title of Sourashtra Box
  • To convert from English to Sureshu, type in English box, Select Sureshu from the list and click Right Arrow which is between the English and Sourashtra box.
  • To convert from English to Sourashtra Unicode, type in English box, Select 'Unicode' from the list and click the Right Arrow which is between the English and Sourashtra box.

Convert from Sourashtra script
If you have data in Sourashtra alphabet (either in Unicode or Sureshu font format) and want to see the display in English alphabet
  • Select the option 'Sureshu' (if you have data in Sureshu font) or Unicode (if you have data in Unicode format) from the list above the Sourashtra Box; paste/type the data in Sourashtra box and click the Left Arrow
If you have data in either of Sourashtra format(Unicode and Sureshu) and you want to convert to other format
  • Select the option 'Sureshu' (if you have data in Sureshu font) or Unicode (if you have data in Unicode format) from the list above the Sourashtra Box; paste/type the data in Sourashtra box and again, select the option (Unicode or Sureshu) from list. It will be automatically converted.

Boxes instead of Sourashtra letters
If your computer does not have Sourashtra Unicode Font installed, you will see square box or question marks. Install the Sourashtra font and re-open the browser. Sometime you may need to re-start the computer after the font is installed.

Why do I see english alphabet when I select Sureshu Sourashtra option
If your computer does not have Sureshu Font installed, you will see English alphabet in Sourashtra box. Install the Sureshu font and re-open the browser.

no link is working fine here.
and the sourashtra font given (sourashtra.otf) file is corrupted this is not installing.

Please address this issue to the admin.
